Donna is a current member of the Huron Valley Council for the Arts and the Village Fine Arts Association in Michigan. She is a previous member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), The Children’s Book Illustrators Group (CBIG) of NY. Her first illustrated picture book was published in 2008, “The Harp Mouse Chooses her Home: The Adventure Begins” written by Diane E Dunn, (Heart & Harp). “The Enchanted Tree of Crooked Lake” written by Rachel Longhurst, was published in 2010 (RAK Publishing). Her second illustrated book in the Harp Mouse series written by Diane E Dunn, "Harp Mouse Adventures- Book II" (Heart & Harp) was released just in time for the 2010 Milford Memories Art Festival, in Milford MI, where Donna was chosen as featured artist for her work from her fArCiCaL fOlK aRt series. She was chosen again as featured artist for Milford Memories 20th Anniversary celebration in 2011. Donna's latest illustrated book "How Haitians Play Basketball" (TorchRunner Press) written by Travis Mushett, was released October 2011. In addititon to illustrating, her line of sculpted bangles, baubles and bling is currently being exhibited and sold regionally and in her "ArtCirque" shop online.
Donna owns ArtQwerks Studio in southeast MI
and devotes full time to illustration and design.
Donna Pellegata was born in Atlanta, Georgia and now resides in southeast Michigan. She is a freelance illustrator and designer. Donna has created over 300 internationally collected commissioned works, illustrations for 6 children's books and designs her own line of wearable art jewelry.
